Honoring Our Retired K9s

These dogs gave years of service to the Des Moines community. Though their working days are behind them, their story — and our commitment to their care — continues.

Bingo

Breed: German Shepherd

Handler: Senior Officer Dustin Wing

Years of Service: 2017 – 2024

Specialty: Narcotics detection, tracking, patrol

Bio: Born in 2016 in Slovakia, Bingo joined the Des Moines Police Department in 2017 and served the community faithfully for seven years before retiring in 2024. Upon retirement, Bingo was adopted from the City of Des Moines by his handler, Senior Officer Dustin Wing, and continues to live with his family today — enjoying a well-earned retirement alongside the partner he served beside for years.
