About Us

Supporting, equipping, and honoring the working dogs and handlers of Des Moines through community-backed funding, advanced training, and lifetime care.

The Des Moines Police Canine Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring our community's canine teams have the critical resources, safety equipment, and advanced training facilities they need to protect and serve.

We are run by a volunteer board committed to the wellbeing of Des Moines' working K9s — from the equipment they rely on during active duty, to the training that keeps them sharp, to the care they deserve once they retire.

The Des Moines Police Canine Foundation was incorporated in April 2026. As a young organization, we're committed to financial transparency as we grow, and will make our filings available as they become due.

As a young organization, we're still building the multi-year financial and tax history required for Candid's higher-level Gold and Platinum seals, and we look forward to reaching those milestones as our foundation matures and continues updating its profile each year to reflect a growing track record.
